Savvi are JAM Card Friendly

Savvi Credit Union has been announced as a JAM Card Friendly Business by the NOW Group, a social enterprise operating across Ireland that supports people who are neurodiverse, autistic or have a learning difficulty into jobs with a future.

The Just a Minute (JAM) Card is a simple and discreet tool provided by the NOW Group that allows people with learning difficulties, autism or other communication barriers to signal that they need a little extra time or patience. It is available as both a physical card and a mobile app, providing an easy, silent way for individuals to communicate their needs. There are currently more than 210,000 JAM Card users worldwide.

Savvi Credit Union has partnered with the NOW Group to become a JAM Card Friendly organisation, with team members completing dedicated JAM Card training. The training equips staff with the awareness and confidence needed to respond with empathy, patience and understanding, ensuring that all members feel supported and respected when accessing services. Savvi joins more than 3,500 organisations that are now JAM Card Friendly.

Commenting on the milestone, Mark Beirne, CEO said: “We are delighted to become a JAM Card Friendly Credit Union. At Savvi, our members are at the heart of everything we do, and this initiative strengthens our commitment to creating an inclusive, welcoming and accessible environment for all. By equipping our teams with the right tools and understanding, we can better support members who may need a little extra time, ensuring everyone has a positive and respectful experience. Financial services play a vital role in everyday life, and initiatives like this help ensure that everyone can access those services with confidence and dignity.”

Savvi Credit Union’s commitment to becoming JAM Card Friendly forms part of its broader focus on accessibility, inclusion and member wellbeing. By taking part in the initiative, Savvi is helping to remove barriers and promote greater understanding for people with hidden disabilities within financial services.

NOW Group is encouraging organisations across financial services, retail, tourism and the public sector to join the movement. Becoming JAM Card Friendly is simple, impactful, and a powerful way to demonstrate a commitment to accessibility and inclusion. With over 210,000 JAM Card users worldwide and more than 3,500 organisations trained through the JAM Card e-learning platform, JAM Card is now one of the most widely recognised tools for supporting people with hidden disabilities. To find out more, visit www.jamcard.org.
