Cabot security breach – Oct 24
We have been made aware of a potential data breach at Cabot Financial Ireland Limited (“Cabot”), a company that helps us manage some of our member loans that are in arrears.
We have tried to make contact with all affected members, but if you have any questions or concerns, please call us on 01 6325100.
We want to let you know about this situation so you can stay alert for any suspicious communications, such as phishing attempts.
Stay safe by:
- Being cautious of unexpected emails, phone calls, or texts asking for personal details like passwords, PINs, or account info.
- Not sharing personal information or clicking on any links if the communication seems suspicious, even if the person seems to know some of your details (name, address, account number, etc.).
- Contacting us directly if you’re unsure about any message claiming to be from us or Cabot. Use the contact details on our website, not the ones provided in the suspicious message.
For more tips on avoiding fraud, you can check out resources from the National Cyber Security Centre and Fraud Smart at www.fraudsmart.ie and www.ncsc.gov.ie.
We take your security seriously and are here to help if you have any concerns.
