How do I provide the additional authentication?

Where a member uses a PC/Laptop to operate their Online Banking, the Mobile App can be used to deliver the SCA details. This will take form of a notification via the Mobile App where the user is presented with a confirmation of the activity taking place and is give an authentication code to enter into the browser.

  • Where a member uses a PC/Laptop to operate their Online Banking and the user does not have a smart phone or does not have the Savvi Mobile Banking App installed, an SMS can be used to deliver the SCA notification instead
  • When a member uses their Savvi Mobile App to operate Online Banking, SMS can be used to deliver an SCA authentication

Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) works to ensure that it is genuinely you whenever you log in or authorise payments while banking online. It is designed to help keep your financial information safe and make online banking even more secure.

Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) comes into effect on the 14th September 2019 and is the process that validates the identity of you, the user, when you log in to access online and mobile banking, and for further services such as making payments or changing your address.
