Loans Administrator

The Loans Administrator will provide an efficient service to members of Savvi Credit Union. This service is provided through interaction directly with members in the credit union, by email and over the phone.

 Duties and Responsibilities

  • Actively manage own performance to deliver agreed personal, team and company objectives
  • Look after all aspects of loan administration, including the perfection of data security; ensure safekeeping of credit agreements and other supporting documentation; implement the credit union’s practices regarding filing, scanning and destruction of documents
  • Issue loan funds to members in a timely manner
  • Regular telephone and email communication with members and other Savvi staff members to assist the team achieve SLA targets.
  • Daily telephone and emails queries to be dealt with in accordance with Savvi standards in a timely manner
  • Assist in the reviewing and analysing documents and applications by verifying data and ensuring items are accurate and complete.
  • Take ownership of all budget processes and procedures including but not limited to opening and review of budget accounts, dealing with members with overdrawn budget accounts and answering queries relating to transactions.
  • Assisting the team with proactive caseload management
  • Perform other duties that may be assigned by the Head of Lending as required.

Reporting

  • Contribute to meetings of such committees as may be directed by the Head of Lending.

 Business Unit Work and Communication

  • Work as part of a team, supporting fellow colleagues
  • Co-operate with line management in the introduction of new products and services
  • Keep the Line manager or other personnel as directed, fully informed on work carried out and of any unusual circumstances and departures from accepted timescales
  • Make suggestions in relation to better service to members
  • Attend and contribute to team and committee meetings, as required
  • Foster good relationships with all staff and members of the CU
  • Attend and contribute to general staff meetings and convey information as appropriate

Training

  • To be eligible for the role under MCC regulations, candidates must have obtained APA Qualification.
  • Participate in relevant training courses to advance skills and knowledge
  • Maintain CPD requirements.

Other Duties

  • Undertake such other reasonable and lawful duties as may be directed from time to time by line management
  • Bring any Health & Safety issues to the attention of the Health & Safety Officer

Requirements of all Savvi staff to:

  • Read and understand all SCU Policies and Procedures in relation to the role
  • Show reasonable flexibility in relation to hours of attendance to meet the needs of the role. Work outside of normal office hours may be required
  • Have a flexible approach to the role in response to organisational change, development and review of best practice
  • Ensure that there is an efficient flow of information within the credit union by leading, directing, sharing and seeking information as appropriate
  • Undertake your work in a manner that is friendly, flexible and in line with the requirements of this position

 The position of the Credit Union is, by its nature flexible and likely to change.  Therefore, this job description will be reviewed regularly and may be amended in line with the needs/demands of the role.

 Skills and experience required:

  • Excellent oral communicator, a pleasant manner and empathy when dealing with members on the phone and online, and with a clear ability to develop and maintain good rapport, friendly and professional relationships with members.
  • Highly organised be able to gather documentation in an efficient manner, provide a quick turnaround, and maintain records and files in a highly compliant and structured manner.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy in work, getting things right, while also providing quick turnaround and working at a good pace in a fast-moving environment.
  • Good computer literacy – Outlook, Excel, Word

Must be a team player with a positive attitude and highly motivated. Good communication and interpersonal skills. This role will give the successful candidate an excellent overview of all parts of the business from a lending perspective, Budget accounts and overall teaching a can do approach to tasks.
