Originally founded in 1962, our financial expertise is built up over decades. Once upon a time, we were St. Patrick’s Credit Union and in recent years we came together with four other local credit unions under our new name, Savvi Credit Union. Savvi Credit Union Ltd. is regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland.

Compliance & AML Officer Job Specification:

Whilst operating in an ‘independent capacity’, the role holder will have a direct reporting line to Savvi Credit Union’s Audit, Risk & Compliance Committee and will report to the CEO from a HR perspective.

The role also includes the Business Compliance requirements for Credit Unions along with acting in the capacity as the Money Laundering Reporting Officer for Savvi Credit Union

Oversight will also be provided through the Internal Audit function.

Job Description

Savvi Credit Union is regulated by the Registry of Credit Unions, Central Bank of Ireland. The Compliance Officer is a mandatory roles required under the Credit Union and Co-operation with Overseas Regulators Act 2012 Section 76C & 76D (Risk Officer & Compliance Officer).

In line with the Central Bank Reform Act 2010, the role is a Controlled Function CUCF-2 (controlling or monitoring compliance by a credit union with its relevant obligations) subject to Fitness and Probity requirements.

Savvi Credit Union (SCU) is regulated by the Registry of Credit Unions, Central Bank of Ireland. The Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) together with the Board of Directors monitors SCU’s compliance with the Criminal Justice (Money Laundering) Act 2010 (as amended). The MLRO is SCU’s primary point of contact for AML/CFT/FS knowledge and expertise. The MLRO has a direct reporting line to the Board of Directors in all matters pertaining to AML/CFT/FS providing the role with the autonomy, authority and influence within SCU to discharge their duties effectively
